Monday Mix No. 29

Happy Cyber Monday! This Monday Mix features a few good sales I think are worth shopping if you’re looking to do so today. All are items I love and would make great gifts too. I hope you find something in this mix you like and have fun perusing some great sales!

J. Crew is currently running 50% off your purchase plus an additional 10% off with code CYBER. I love these cozy tartan pajamas that would be perfect for the holiday season and Christmas morning!

This ruffle ribbed sweater has been on repeat in my wardrobe, and I have received a few questions about it too. I wore the white version on Thanksgiving and purchased the gray one too because I love it so much! I really like that this sweater doesn’t have any wool in it. H&M is currently marked down 30% off sitewide making this versatile sweater under $18.

J. Crew Factory also has some great steals today. This set of three masks is only $7 — such a steal! I really like the seersucker and gingham prints and think this price is unbeatable.

The Lisi Lerch sale ends tonight! Many styles are marked down between 30-70% off at checkout with no code. I have my eye on these gorgeous pearl earrings that come down to $35 in your cart. Such a great pair for a variety of occasions.

I’ve shared my love for Target sweaters all season, and it looks like almost every style is marked down to 30% off. How fun is this pretty purple one with the flutter sleeve detail?! I love the pop of color and think this would be an ideal top for Zoom meetings with leggings on off camera ;)

A $25 Tuckernuck top? Yes, please! Tuckernuck is running 20% off sitewide with code BIGSALE, including its sale section. This top would be a great classic transition piece in the spring and summer with shorts or white jeans. It’s still available in almost every size!

Happy shopping and have a wonderful week!

7.    Do you like a gift that you can add to each year? Nora Fleming offers an array of different serving pieces and fun mini adornments that can be changed seasonally or for the occasion. Imagine a charcuterie board with a turkey mini at your Thanksgiving gathering and that same board with a baby blocks mini at the baby shower your hosting. Plus with a wide selection of serving pieces and minis, you can keep adding to the collection for years.

8.    If you’re shopping for a New Englander or know someone that just loves the Northeast. this new small business might just hold the perfect treasure. The Golden Cod celebrates the New England way of life with a nod to the fishing industry that first brought prosperity to the region. Stop by the website read their story and shop their locally crafted products. Also, if you have a golden girl on your list, be sure to check out the Stay Golden t-shirt.

10.  We all know a dog or cat lover! Take a look at Stacy Claire Boyd’s stationary. With more than 70 breeds, you can personalize notecards, notepads and return address labels. I instantly had a list of family and friends I thought would adore a notepad with their precious pooch.

11.  If you’ve been following for a little while, you likely know I loved my Day Designer my first few years of college. It is the best planner I’ve ever used and would make a great gift for the Type A girl in your life. They have many pretty designs and prints too that fit every taste. Use code CYBER20 for free shipping.

12.  Ok, I admit I am a little biased on this one. But, if you are looking for a delicious consumable gift, I think you’ll love this BBQ sauce. I ate at Dreamland my very first trip to Tuscaloosa and have never turned down an opportunity to go since. It would be fun to put together a BBQ sampler package with BBQ sauces around the country a few family favorites are Rendezvous Ribs out of Memphis and Smoky D’s BBQ sauce from Des Moines and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que from Syracuse.

13.  The Pants Store is my favorite boutique in Tuscaloosa, and I love including a little more southern style in my wardrobe. They have great prices and are running a number of deals on Black Friday. This adorable dress was what I wore to the Alabama-Georgia game, and I’ve worn it a handful of times since!

14.  I love a good PJ set, and this fun Christmas print is no exception. Toss Designs has the cutest prints with breathable fabric. This would be a great gift for your mom, grammy or sister!

15.  I recently ordered these bows earrings and think they’re even more festive in person. They are under $20 and are ideal for someone who likes statement earrings but not the weight. Coco Designs is currently running a 25% off sale with code PINKTREAT.

16.  For the entertainer, embroidered cocktail napkins would be such a fun gift. August Morgan has the best selection. Each napkin has a clever drinking pun that would be a fun conversation starter at any party.

17.  For the gal on the go, these duo gingham bags would be perfect. They are a great size and would fit nicely in a suitcase, backpack or tote. A major perk--they are easy to clean, which is so important for makeup bags.

18.  Headbands are one trend I don’t see going away next year, and this colorful, bold print would be a playful addition to anyone’s collection. How fun would this be to pull on in the spring and summer!

19.  Teleties are amazing because they are gentle on your hair and come in different colors and sizes. I wear them religiously and think they would make a great stocking stuffer or grab bag gift with friends. The sets of three are under $10.

20.  Ornaments are always a fool proof gift, and I think this gingerbread house is gorgeous and timeless. It’s just over five inches and would be a beautiful addition to any tree.

Let me know what you find! I hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving, whatever that may look like this year!

Monday Mix No. 28

Happy Monday! And hooray for a holiday week! I love Thanksgiving, and I’m excited to be at home this week as I wrap up some schoolwork and enjoy down time with my family. I’ve already binged multiple episodes of “The Crown,” slept in and ate delicious homemade food. It’s going to be a great week if I keep it up, haha!

Today’s Monday Mix includes a few items I’ve been loving and eyeing lately. There are some great sales happening too that are worth sharing, so I hope you love this round up as much as I do!

I’ve shared a number of Target sweaters this season, and I was happy to see this one is back in stock. I like the knit pattern and the fun sleeve detailing. It’s part of their Black Friday sale and currently under $25!

The Tiny Tassel is such a cute small business based in Charleston, and I love the bright, colorful selections they have. This gingham headband would be perfect for adding a pop of color to a fall outfit.

This Sherpa jacket looks just like the popular J. Crew one, but at a much lower price. It comes in multiple colors and would be great for pulling on for a chillier day. It seems to sell out pretty quickly, so I would snatch one while it’s in stock if you’re interested.

How gorgeous are these pearl bow earrings? I love the elegant details and think they would make a great lightweight pair for the holiday season. They are currently 40% off with code WHYWAIT.

My Grammy sent me this Draper James mask last week and I’ve already worn it a handful of times. It’s a pretty print and currently 30% off making it only $8.40. I really like Draper James masks because of their fit and style.

I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday week!

My College Apartment Christmas Decorations

I’ve shared bits and pieces of my Christmas décor in my room on Instagram throughout the past few weeks, but I wanted to dedicate a blog post to document all the fun additions! I wasted no time pulling out my decorations for the holiday season (hello, Nov. 1) and will bring all my decorations home with me when I go back to Chicago for Thanksgiving this weekend. Talk about how time flies!

My college apartment Christmas décor has accumulated over the past four years, and I have to say I love the collection I’ve curated. These colorful pieces add some festivity during the season and make the room more fun without feeling more crowded. You’ll notice there are multiple trees, a couple door banners and a little llama addition to match the room’s vibe.

It’s been fun to see these decorations in each of my spaces over the past four years (and see the collection grow, ha!). If you’re looking to begin your own collection for your college space, I recommend starting small and being selective. It can be easy to peruse the dollar section at Target and want it all, but finding pieces that you love and really fit your space will make it more exciting to pull out each year and create a purposeful collection that fits together.

While unfortunately some of these items are no longer available, I’ve found some similar pieces if you are looking to add to your décor. I was happy to find similar pom pom trees and banners! Hopefully these decorations provide some inspiration for your own colorful Christmas decorating. Have fun!

Remember my pom pom pumpkins? They were inspired by these trees!

I got this Lilly inspired stocking freshman year and hung it by my TV. I added a string of lights to my TV stand too.

I have a thing for llamas! I love this this festive addition to my desk hutch.

Added a big red bow to my closet door knob because why not?!

The llama trend continues with this fun banner on my bedroom door.

The banner on my bathroom door goes well with the llama banner. I picked this up in the clearance section in January! I love the pretty colors.

This is what I call my Charlie Brown tree, ha! It has a unique shape but was perfect for filling some extra space in my bathroom.

My white tree is another item that's been with me since freshman year. It sits on my desk and adds a pretty glow at night.

Monday Mix No. 27

Happy Monday! This is our last week of in-person classes at UA, and it feels crazy to me that it’s already that time of year. It truly feels like I just got here a few weeks ago. I am so looking forward to relaxing on my couch at home next week watching “The Crown” and enjoying some down time. I hope you have a relaxing break planned too!

Today’s mix includes some familiar items as well as some new ones. I hope you enjoy!

I shared this sweater in an earlier mix and on my Instagram story yesterday but wanted to include it today because it is currently on sale for $20. I love the color (looks bluer in person!) and the little puff on the sleeve. A great sweater to wear all winter.

This hair dryer was also an item I shared on my Instagram story yesterday, but this price point is too good not to share again! It is currently on sale for $29, and I anticipate it may sell out. I have had mine for over a year and a half and cannot recommend it enough.

How gorgeous are these blue statement earrings? I love the unique resin pattern and think they would make a great Christmas gift. You can swap the gold details for silver too, making them a great option to coordinate with all your other jewelry.

These cute hoops are another item I’ve shared in the past, but they are currently on sale for $15 in Lisi Lerch’s Black Friday sale. I have this light pink pair and the navy pair too. They go with so many outfits and are a great lightweight option.

You likely saw in my Thanksgiving Outfit Inspo post that I’ve got an eye for tartan headbands. This pretty one is currently 35% off with code FRIENDS and would be perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

Sweater, earrings, headband and sneakers — sounds like me! These white sneakers look just like my go-to pair. The all neutral look makes them super easy to pair with many outfits, and the star detailing adds a fun touch. They are currently 40% off!

I hope you have a great week!

Festive Holiday Pajamas

Happy Saturday! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. I am excited to share my second Christmas post, and it’s one I think you’ll love. Today I’m rounding up some holiday PJ sets. It feels as though this year has truly been a great one for PJs — between giving us a reason to spend some extra time in them and the availability of so many cute pairs, what’s not to love?

I’m a big fan of PJ sets. It may sound silly, but I love putting on something that is cute and comfy at the end of a long day. I have a good collection of sets that transition nicely from season to season, but I have to admit that my Christmas sets are some of my favorites. I enjoy pulling out my Christmas plaids each year and it feels special to have PJs designated for the holiday season.

I love that so many brands have come out with special holiday PJs this season. Whether it’s a fun print or a classic plaid, holiday PJ sets are perfect for cold evenings cuddled up watching Christmas movies with a hot chocolate. I included some selections from small businesses too. Those are some of the cutest pairs if I do say so myself!

Whether you’re looking to add to your own collection or maybe gift a pair to your mom, sister or friend, I hope you find a pair or two you like in this round up!

Favorite Fall Uniform

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: sweaters and sneaks are my fall uniform! I shared in this post a sweater that I wore all the time last winter and spring. I’m all for comfort and easy-to-throw-on outfits in the fall that still look put together. I love how sneakers make it easy to run around campus when I am dressed up from leggings and a T-shirt.

This mock neck bell sleeve sweater was another piece on repeat, and luckily is available this season. The fabric of this sweater is so soft and one I would always gravitate toward on cooler days. Whether I was pairing it with jeans to head to work or with ankle pants for a dressier occasion, it’s really versatile. I like that the shape is roomy (perfect for Thanksgiving, haha) and comes in multiple pretty colors.

When I was home in October, I paired it with my $20 Walmart sneakers (one of my best purchases) and high waisted jeans. I added a headband and some gold earrings (similar) to complete the look. Though we’re currently experiencing a bit of heat wave here in Tuscaloosa (again), I’m already looking forward to bringing this look back out. Comfortable, practical and ready to go from class to work to a meeting.

The sweater is currently available in tan here, but I’m keeping my eye out for a lower price. I’ve also linked some similar styles at more affordable prices too.

I’m curious to know — what’s your go-to fall outfit?

Thanksgiving Outfit Inspo

I’ve been looking forward to Thanksgiving all fall! It is one of my favorite holidays. Between the family time, delicious food, football and parade, the day is always one I enjoy. Though it will look a bit different this year, I am still looking forward to being home and enjoying some down time with my family.

I love dressing for the fall, and planning out my Thanksgiving outfit is no exception. What could be nicer than a cozy sweater for a full day of festivities and a full plate of delicious family recipes? Sounds like heaven. There are so many pieces out right now that are perfect for the holiday season. I rounded up a few outfit boards for some inspo. Now is the perfect time to add to your closet with so many great early Black Friday sales.

There could easily be a 20 to 30 degree temperature difference between my northern and southern homes, so I had some fun creating two outfits that I would wear if I were spending the holiday in either location. I could easily recreate these four outfits with items in my own closet. But it’s a special occasion, so I’ll probably find something new to add.

While I would absolutely love to wear a fun skirt or a comfy dress, I’ll be spending Thanksgiving in chilly Chicago and will likely wear something similar to the first outfit!

I also included masks for each look. I love matching my mask to my outfit, and there are so many designs that work well with a holiday look.

I hope these boards serve as some inspiration for your own Thanksgiving look! Where will you be spending the holiday? Will you dress for warm or cool temps?

Monday Mix No. 26

rib neck sweater | pearl earrings | face masks | black sweaters | plum tank

Happy Monday! I hope you had a restful and relaxing weekend. Alabama did not have a football game this weekend, so I enjoyed having a low-key weekend and getting ahead on schoolwork before the hectic last weeks of the semester. I spotted a few good sales that are worth sharing in today’s mix. Enjoy!

This green mock neck sweater is such a pretty fall color. I have a similar style sweater from Loft that I got a few years ago and it is still on frequent rotation in my closet.

Pearl statement earrings are perfect for the holiday season, and this Lisi Lerch pair is currently marked down. I also have a similar style of these earrings and my friends often ask to borrow them. They are such an elegant pair of earrings and a fun change from a traditional pearl.

I have been on the lookout for more fall masks, and these fun prints from Tuckernuck caught my eye! While they are not on sale, you can get 10% off your first purchase by signing up for emails and they always have free shipping. A win-win!

I have been tempted by Target’s frequent sales on sweaters! All clothing at Target is currently 20% off through Wednesday. Y’all know I love a good mock neck sweater, and I like how the sleeves on this black one are banded. Perfect for wearing while working so the sleeves don’t swing onto your keyboard.

I’m a big Athleta fan and was happy to see this tank was less than $25! It comes in several colors and would be great year-round. The mesh siding is a fun detail and I really liked the fall tone of this pink color.

I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Decorative Christmas Pillows

It has been an interesting year, wouldn’t you agree? Earlier this fall I decided I would start preparing for Christmas right after Halloween. I really feel we all need a little extra holiday cheer this year!

On Sunday I woke up with a plan to decorate my room for the holidays. And, of course, when you decorate, you have to add in Christmas music, right?! I am enjoying fall now that it is here in Tuscaloosa, but I will be honest that my apartment screams Christmastime, haha.

As I was perusing online this week for more Christmas décor (because let’s be honest, can you ever have too much?), I found so many fun pillows that would make a simple but festive addition to any room. Whether it’s on a couch, desk chair or bed, pillows are an easy and often affordable way to decorate. I really liked the selection I found, especially ones that would work well with a pink and colorful vibe like my bedroom.

I rounded up a few of my favorite finds in this post in case you’re on the hunt for additional décor. Many of these would also make great grab bag gifts too! With so many fun items in the holiday department this year, I am excited to share more fun finds and gift guides throughout the next two months.

Better Be-Leaf it's fall

Hellooooo, cooler weather! I mentioned this in my Monday Mix, but the temperature has dropped here in Tuscaloosa. If you follow my Instagram stories you likely saw that it was a hot October. It was a quick transition to fall and I miss the hot temperatures, but I am excited to pull out all my sweaters for the fall season.

This pale pink turtleneck sweater was a Target find last year that I wore non-stop in winter and spring. I picked up the gray color too. I love how warm it is and the fabric is soft. I especially like its versatility. Whether it’s a comfy day at home with leggings and slippers or I wear it with ankle pants for a dressier occasion, this sweater works well dressed up or down. This fall I’ve loved pairing it with my Madewell high waisted jeans and sneakers. It’s a comfortable look while still being a step above comfy loungewear.

While this particular sweater is not sold this season, I’ve linked a few similar affordable options below. I hope you see one you like!

Monday Mix No. 25

Happy November! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had fun celebrating Halloween, watching the Alabama game and decorating for Christmas. The temperatures have dropped significantly in the past week here in Tuscaloosa, so I am on full send fall mode. You’ll see that in today’s mix — enjoy!

With daylight saving time yesterday, I added some extra light in my room to make it nice and cozy even if it’s dark outside. This paper lamp gives such a warm glow and is under $10! Perfect for adding some extra light in your room now that it is dark so early.

If you’re looking to add more light to your room while making it festive, this ceramic Christmas tree lamp is for you. It would look perfect on a desk or bedside table. Talk about cozy Christmas vibes!

The buy one, get one 50% off sweater deal at Target is good through tomorrow! I have my eyes on this pretty blue one. I really like the ribbed detailing and the pop of color!

My favorite Tuscaloosa boutique is having a sale starting Wednesday! This black smocked waist romper would be great for gameday or a warmer Thanksgiving celebration. It comes in a pretty merlot color too.

If I am in my apartment, it’s safe to assume that I am wearing my slippers. I currently have pink slip ons but was looking for a pair to help keep my feet a little warmer in the wintertime. These cozy slippers are currently $22 and you can apply an extra 5% off at checkout.

Stay warm and have a great week!
