Derby Days

I love seersucker. I've worn it since I was little and believe it truly will never go out of style! Given this fact, this seersucker dress is perfect for the upcoming Kentucky Derby. While I wish I would be wearing it this weekend, you can find me sitting at my desk studying and completing other projects! Hopefully, I'll be able to wear this fun dress sometime soon perhaps at the race track this summer.

What are doing to celebrate the Kentucky Derby this weekend? Will you be wearing seersucker?

Kathleen

Lilly for Target

Anyone else counting down the hours until the long awaited release of the Lilly for Target collection?! I know I am. I truly can't contain my excitement.
Over the past few days, my Instagram feed as well as my Snapchat story feed has been filled with everything regarding Lilly for Target. On Wednesday night especially, my feed was filled with pink as there were so many pictures from the Lilly Launch Party in NYC.
Is it any surprise that Lilly would throw a fabulous party? Life's a party, and the new clothing items from the collection are the perfect way to dress for the upcoming spring and summer. Kate Bosworth, Bella Thorne, and a couple other celebrities made an appearance at the event, wearing a few of the new shifts from the collection. I loved seeing pictures of the new pieces on them as well as a plethora of photos of the displays. Take a peek!

While the official time of the release has yet to (and probably will not) be announced, all the photos from the launch party have made my excitement for Sunday rise even more! The pop-up store at Bryant Park where the launch party was held opened to the public on Thursday morning, from what I've seen so far via social media, Sunday will a.) be very crowded and hectic if you're shopping in stores b.) be very exciting c.) completely brighten up the day (literally).

I am in the process of making a wish-list, but I adore the shifts, the swimsuits are so fun, and those mugs would be put to great use. Decisions, decisions! The countdown is on!
Are you excited for the release of the Lilly for Target collection? If so, what's on your wishlist?

Lilly Love

Lilly Pulitzer dress (old; similar: here, here, here) // Jack Rogers // Kate Spade bow bracelet (similar) // Kate Spade anchor necklace (old) // J. Crew sunglasses
I am so ready for some warm weather. It's definitely getting warmer here, but I am waiting for the day I can bring out this Lilly dress. It is so comfy and the bright colors scream spring. Throwing it on is super easy and with some simple jewelry I am set. It's the perfect dress for those warmer spring days and I know I will have to restrain myself from wearing it too much!

Do you have a go-to casual spring dress?

My First Rocksbox

On a chilly gray afternoon, I was thrilled when I opened my mailbox to discover my first Rocksbox package.  When I opened dainty white box tied with a bow I found a personalized note describing the jewelry inside and how it was hand-selected just for me.  Well done, Eleanor -- it is as if you have known me for years!

Rocksbox is like having your own unlimited jewelry box.  It simple and fun, and a great way to keep your jewelry selection current and ever changing.  You simply subscribe to the service (www.rocksbox.com), take a style survey, and make a wish list of jewelry pieces.  Three pieces are selected and mailed to you based on your preferences.  This lovely jewelry is on loan to you.  When you are ready to try something new, you simply return the three jewelry pieces and three new ones will be mailed to you.  You can always retake the style survey if your preferences change!  If there is a certain necklace, ring, stunning piece you just can’t bear to part with, you have the option to purchase that piece.  And, each month you receive a $10 credit toward a purchase.  Concerned about shipping fees?  Don’t be.  You receive free prepaid shipping each way.  And, by using the code "letsgetpreppyxoxo" you can get your first month completely free!

In my first box, I received the Sophie Harper Pave circle earrings, the Gorjana Taner cuff, and the Perry Street Becca necklace.  I love a statement necklace and this one works well with so many items in my closet!  I could wear them all the time.  The earrings and bracelet cuff have that delicate touch that I love in jewelry—a subtle detail that adds the little extra sparkle to any outfit.  Wearing them the other day, I received lots of compliments.  While it will be a little hard to part with these beauties, I am excited to see what will be next and let’s be honest it’s always fun to anticipate receiving something pretty in the mail.
Don’t forget to use the code “letsgetpreppyxoxo” for your first month free!

Kathleen

Prep on Prep

Vineyard Vines Oxford // Lilly Pulitzer Seersucker Shorts (old, similar) // Jack Rogers // J. Crew Factory Pearl Bracelet // Little Words Project bracelet (c/o)

The temperatures here have been up and down lately, only making me crave the warmth of the summer sunshine even more. I can't wait to wear seersucker shorts and white all the time, and I love that this outfit encompasses both of these favorites of mine. Much to my dismay, it is way too chilly to pull out this outfit now.  So, I'll enjoy this oxford with a pair of jeans, but I know it's one I'll wear as soon as the weather permits. Let's hope that's soon!

Little Words Project

Bracelets are the perfect accessory for absolutely every outfit.  So naturally I was thrilled when I recently received this sweet bracelet from The Little Words Project (LWP).  LWP lets you pick a special word and the color of beads to make a custom bracelet.

If you've looked at my Instagram feed you know I am a huge Lilly Pulitzer fan.  So, I chose one of her quotes to inspire me.  "Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink."  I selected the word POSSIBLE and, of course, pink beads. Another favorite quote of mine is Audrey Hepburn's "Anything is possible, the word itself says, 'I'm Possible!'"  It's a wonderful daily reminder not to set limitations or get discouraged because anything is possible.

One of the truly unique aspects that I love about LWP is their "pay-it-forward" mission.  Each bracelet is meant to be shared.  So, when you see a friend that needs encouragement or support, you have a beautiful bracelet that you can pass to them.  A simple act of kindness that can help brighten someone's day or provide that extra bit of support that they need.  Each bracelet has a numbered tag that can be registered at the LWP website.  So you can see where your bracelet has been and where it goes as it moves from wrist to wrist!

Everything on their site (with the exception of featured bracelets) is 25% off today with the code "BDAY25" to celebrate the founder Adriana's birthday!

What word would you chose?

Kathleen

Beach Bum

Experiencing serious withdrawals from Mexico this week. Last week over spring break, my family and I traveled to Cancun to soak up the sunshine. For the mornings, I opted for a lightweight Vineyard Vines tee shirt and my favorite seersucker Lauren James shorties before putting on my swimsuit. It's the perfect outfit for warmer mornings with a bit of a breeze. Plus, seersucker and light pink. A perfect pair in my book!

What do you like to wear during breezy mornings?

Kathleen
