July Favorites

8/01/2019

July feels like it flew by! Between the Fourth of July, my brother’s graduation party, a quick trip to my grandparents’ house, time with friends and interning, this month was a fun and busy one. August will be filled with a bittersweet ending to my internship followed by heading back to Tuscaloosa to start my junior year. It feels as though these last few weeks of summer just keeping moving faster and faster.

This month’s favorites post is a little bit of everything. From reading to watching to wearing, this roundup is a diverse collection. I found myself wanting to pull from my June list which I think is a good sign that I’ve found some favorites this summer.

I read a few great books this month but really want to recommend this one. I read it so quickly and was surprised by the ending. Suspense and thriller is not usually my favorite genre, but I really liked this one and can’t wait to see the movie coming out next year.

This was a product I featured in my summer beauty favorites last year, but I have continued to use it since. It’s a tinted moisturizer and isn’t as heavy as foundation. I’m no makeup pro, but love the light coverage it provides while also giving me color during the summer.

During the weekend, you can probably find me in a tennis skirt. I’ve found a number of cute ones at TJ Maxx all under $20 that are great quality. This one is similar to an older navy and white one in my closet, and I love feeling a bit more put together in a more casual outfit, ha!

I picked up this navy planner from Target earlier this month and am a big fan of how thin and light it is. During the school year I use a Day Designer, and I’ve enjoyed switching it up with a more compact planner during the summer. Highly suggest if you’re looking for a lightweight planner for the schoolyear.

This was another product I featured last year, but will continue to recommend. Each week I use a face mask to clean my skin and hydrate. The masks are inexpensive and are recommended for 30 minutes, but I usually leave it on for closer to 50 minutes to really let me skin soak up every last drop. I love how my skin feels so soft for days afterward too.

I watched the first season of Big Little Lies On Demand this month and was able to catch up and watch the last half of the second season live with my mom. I usually prefer movies over TV shows, but found this one so interesting. I loved watching the six different women’s stories intertwine and was in suspense until the end. The series has so many of my favorite actresses too! Though I watched the series first, I have the novel on my “to read” list and can’t wait to read.
